West Ham United have reportedly now opened talks to sign 24-year-old forward Jota from Al-Ittihad.
Jota has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham in the January transfer window, with a loan move to the London Stadium being mooted for the Portuguese ace.
Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium, and Jota could well be the man for the job.
That’s according to talkSPORT who claim that West Ham are one of three Premier League clubs chasing the former Celtic star’s signature.
The 24-year-old has experienced an incredibly tough time out in Saudi Arabia, since joining Al-Ittihad from Celtic for around £25 million back in July (Sky Sports).
However, his spell with Celtic before his Saudi switch is evidence of his undeniable quality.
And now he could be West Ham bound…

West Ham take another step to sign Jota
With talkSPORT claiming that the Hammers have held talks to sign the Al-Ittihad ace, it seems like Moyes may be closing in on significantly strengthening his forward line.
I think that the ex-Celtic ace would be a fine addition to Moyes’s ranks, and he’d be a big upgrade on Said Benrahma in the left wing position.
In spite of his problems out in Saudi, he has genuine quality, as proven by his record of 28 goals and 26 assists in 83 games for Celtic (Transfermarkt).
The Portuguese star has decent pace and possesses exceptional technical ability, as well as a keen eye for goal and a killer pass.
He can play anywhere along the front-line and would add real variety to the Hammers’ play in the final third.
If West Ham manage to sign Jota on loan in January, with an option to buy him in the summer, I think we’ll be in a really strong position going forward.
