West Ham United have allegedly just made a formal bid for a super talented left-back.

The addition of a new left-back is needed at West Ham in the January transfer window, in order to provide more competition and cover for Emerson Palmieri.

Hammers boss David Moyes appears to have someone in mind this winter – 21-year-old Bradley Locko of Brest.

The young Frenchman is an incredible talent and has been making a real name for himself in Ligue 1 this season.

According to Haberturk journalist Cagatay Celik, West Ham have made a £7 million bid for Locko, with Brest demanding at least £10.3 million for the 21-year-old left-back.

So it remains to be seen whether or not the Hammers will go in with another bid for the youngster…

West Ham have left-back bid rejected

I reckon that the Hammers should be going all out to sign the 21-year-old this winter – he has so much potential.

In 18 Ligue 1 outings for Brest this term, Locko has averaged 3.2 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 1.4 clearances (Who Scored).

Locko has really impressive pace, is an extremely solid tackler and has the energy and stamina needed to bomb up and down the left hand flank for the entirety of a match.

Moyes really does need to bring in a long-term successor for Emerson Palmieri – someone young who can provide adequate cover and strong competition for the Italian.

With Aaron Cresswell unlikely to be at the London Stadium beyond the end of this current season, the Hammers signing someone like Bradley Locko would be a really good move.

Whether West Ham go in with a new bid for the left-back remains to be seen though. I believe that £10 million for the 21-year-old would represent good value for the East London outfit, so I don’t see any reason why Moyes won’t make it happen.
