West Ham have been linked with a new Man United deal for Harry Maguire after a claim from ex assistant boss Stuart Pearce.

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Manchester United outcast Wan-Bissaka since the summer.

Man United signed the fullback from Crystal Palace for £50m in the summer of 2019 (BBC Sport).

West Ham boss Moyes actually tried to sign Wan-Bissaka from Man United in the summer transfer window.

And recent reports have suggested he will try again for Wan-Bissaka in January albeit with competition from Wolves.

Reporting for the Manchester Evening News, chief Man United writer Samuel Luckhurst confirmed West Ham’s interest in bringing the former Crystal Palace star back to London.

But Erik ten Hag appeared to all but rule out a move for Wan-Bissaka, who has suddenly found himself back in the Manchester United team in recent matches.

Now West Ham have been linked with a new Man United deal for Harry Maguire after a claim from ex assistant boss Stuart Pearce.

Maguire has completely lost his place in the Manchester United side since Ten Hag took charge.

And in the last two games, left-back Luke Shaw was even preferred ahead of him at centre-back in the most damning indictment yet.

Man United website Stretty News claims it is ‘hard to see how Maguire will be at Man United for much longer’.

Maguire is now being linked with a January love move to West Ham. And crucially the Hammers are the only big club mentioned who are of no threat to Man United’s league position this season – making any potential deal more likely.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Pearce – who left West Ham in the summer – said Maguire would do a good job for his old club or a team like Newcastle or Aston Villa.

“If I was West Ham, if I was Newcastle, if I was Aston Villa, I’d be all over trying to get Harry Maguire out of there,” Pearce said.

“I’d be asking the question whether he’s available. He’d be a brilliant addition to a football club. He’s the right age, the right stature, right experience. He might just need another challenge now as he’s not getting regular football.”

Pearce’s comments have sparked speculation West Ham could make a loan move for Maguire.

With Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma injury prone, Angelo Ogbonna in his last season and Craig Dawson wanting a move up north for family reasons, signing Maguire makes perfect sense.

And he would be a superb addition for a West Ham team lacking presence and leadership this term.
