West Ham have now held talks with the agent of FC Basel striker Arthur Cabral according to a report from 4-4-2.CH.
It is also suggested by 4-4-2.CH that the Hammers could pick up the 23-year-old Brazilian hitman for less than €20 million (£16.6 million).
David Moyes is desperate to sign another top-class striker in January.
The Scot needs to bring in more competition and cover for Michail Antonio as a matter of urgency.
And it seems as though the West Ham boss has identified the man for the job.
West Ham hold talks with Cabral agent as £16.6m deal beckons
4-4-2.CH claims that the Hammers have already made contact with the prolific striker’s agent.
The one big problem we might have is that Barcelona have been sniffing around him as well.
Let’s just hope that we beat Barca to the punch. Cabral would be a sensational addition for West Ham.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has been on fire for Basel this season, bagging 25 goals and eight assists in just 26 games in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Cabral is energetic, dynamic, possesses real pace and is an exemplary finisher.
The Basel ace is very strong in the air as well and possesses very good movement.
In short, he has all of the attributes needed to succeed under David Moyes in the Premier League.
£16.6 million or perhaps even less would be an absolute bargain for Cabral.
And West Ham should not hesitate to bring him to the London Stadium in January.
