West Ham have a seriously exciting plan for the Said Benrahma money in January says a new report from a transfer journalist.

Selling fringe or out of favour players like Said Benrahma is never easy but West Ham’s hopes of making January transfer window signings depends on it.

So it boded well when it was claimed at the weekend that West Ham are in talks to seal a £20m deal to ship Benrahma out to Lyon.

It has become increasingly clear that the Algerian does not have a future at West Ham under David Moyes.

West Ham have seriously exciting plan for Benrahma money

The manager even said he is playing Lucas Paqueta ‘out of position’ on the left because it is an area ‘we’re a bit short in’.

After being snubbed for Algeria’s AFCON squad, Benrahma is suddenly a much more saleable asset in January.

And that could result in some excellent business for the Hammers it seems.

Because West Ham have a seriously exciting plan for the Benrahma money says a new report.

The Daily Mail’s transfer columnist Simon Jones says the funds from selling Benrahma – who he claims is also interesting Fulham – will go towards a striker – the identity of which will have fans salivating.

Hammers want Guirassy using funds says journalist

Because deadly forward Serhou Guirassy is top of West Ham’s list when spending the Benrahma cash according to Jones.

West Ham have been heavily linked with the 18-goal Stuttgart striker for some time.

The Guinea international has a £17.5m release clause in his contract so the reported £20m from a potential Benrahma sale would help cover that.

Jones’ claim comes after the top source inside West Ham exclusively told Hammers News in November that some of the club’s targets were African players.

Just over a week ago three prominent figures at Stuttgart spoke out about Guirassy’s future and it gave the likes of the Hammers plenty of encouragement.

Lines communication are already established between West Ham and Stuttgart after the £17m deal which took Konstantinos Mavropanos to the London Stadium in the summer.
