West Ham have just made a bid for South American attacker

West Ham United have apparently just made a bid for a really exciting young attacker in the January window.

The January transfer window is a vitally important one for West Ham boss David Moyes, and after sealing a deal for Kalvin Phillips his next job will be to bring an attacker to the London Stadium.

The Hammers have been linked with moves to sign numerous forwards, including the likes of Ibrahim Osman of Danish side Nordsjaelland.

And then just a couple of days ago, an Italian football agent suggested that West Ham had made a bid for a player from Monza – at the time it wasn’t clear which one.

Was it attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni or central defender Andrea Carboni?

That question has now been cleared up by the Italian media…

West Ham make South American attacker bid

According to a report from Calciomercato, the Hammers offered around £9 million for Valentin Carboni, 18.

However, Monza are demanding £17 million at the very least. In fact, it is claimed that even that wouldn’t be enough to sign the Argentine teenager.

Carboni is hugely exciting talent. He is an attacking midfielder by trade, but he can also operate as a winger if needed be.

The South American teen has already bagged two goals and three assists in 15 senior games for Monza (Transfermarkt).

Carboni has incredible technique for someone so young and has the potential to go on and become a real star of the game.

If West Ham genuinely have made a bid for the young attacker, it will be interesting to see if the owners are ready to up their offer or not. I suspect that they won’t go any higher than what they’ve offered already – Carboni is an unproven entity after all, especially in the Premier League.
