Hammers boss Davids Moyes wants to bring the 26-year-old Man City ace to the London Stadium in January according to a report from 90 Min.

Angelo Ogbonna is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury whilst the West Ham fans eagerly await the results of Kurt Zouma’s scan following the knee problem he picked up against Chelsea on Saturday.

The addition of a top-class centre-back in January now seems like somewhat of a necessity for the Hammers.

And Nathan Ake would be a very smart addition for West Ham, if Moyes manages to make it happen.

Manchester City signed the 26-year-old centre-back from Bournemouth for around £40 million back in 2020 (BBC).

The Dutchman has not featured regularly for Pep Guardiola, however, since moving to the Etihad. Ake has made just 12 Premier League starts for Man City.

Ake has a key attribute that the Scot is attracted to – the fact that he is left-footed.

Standing at just 5ft 11 in, the former Chelsea ace is far from dominant in the air but he is quick along the ground.

Ake is a very strong tackler and has impressive positional awareness.

If Man City are prepared to let the 26-year-old Holland international leave the Etihad in January, the Hammers should be all over it.

He still hasn’t reached his prime and has so many years left ahead of him whereby he will undoubtedly improve even further still.
