West Ham United face a tough battle ahead, with Aston Villa moving into position to sign super talented 21-year-old midfielder in the January transfer window.
Aston Villa could be set to deal a big blow to West Ham by signing an elite young midfielder in the January transfer window.
Hammers boss David Moyes is desperately hunting for reinforcements this month, and he seems to be close to bringing Kalvin Phillips to the London Stadium.
However, the Scot is keen to bring another defensive midfielder to the club, but one for the future this time, with Belgian midfielder Mandela Keita apparently on his radar.
Now Moyes could face a big problem though, and that’s because HLN are claiming that Aston Villa are moving into position to challenge West Ham for the signing of the 21-year-old midfielder this month…

Losing out on Keita would be a big blow for the Hammers – he is a really exciting talent.
In 14 outings for Royal Antwerp so far this season, the youngster has averaged 1.5 tackles and 1.4 interceptions per game. He has made 48.7 passes on average per match and has recorded an impressive completion rate of 90.3% (Who Scored).
Mandela, who won his first senior Belgium cap earlier this season, is a really powerful athlete – a quick, robust and dynamic defensive midfielder with bags of potential.
Kalvin Phillips will obviously come straight into the aside, whilst Keita would be an addition made with one eye on the future.
However, it seems as though Aston Villa could beat us to the supremely talented 21-year-old’s signature in the January transfer window.
And missing out on the young Belgian would be a major blow for the Hammers as far as I’m concerned.
