West Ham United and Aston Villa could be set for a big January transfer window battle this month.
The January transfer window is a vitally important one for West Ham and Aston Villa, with David Moyes and Unai Emery both keen to freshen up their respective ranks.
Albert Gudmundsson is player who both Premier League clubs want to sign, with the Hammers and the Villans both keen to prise him away from Genoa this winter.
We have already been linked with a move to sign him in January, but we clearly now face strong competition for his services.
According to Calcio Mercato, the Serie A side are demanding around £26 million for the 26-year-old forward.
So let the battle commence. Out of the two clubs, we definitely need attacking reinforcements the most.
Whether we are able to beat Villa to his signature remains to be seen though…

The two Premier League clubs are set for a battle for Gudmundsson this winter, and I think he’s a player we should be going all out to sign.
He has been on fire for Genoa so far this season, and has bagged 10 goals and three assists in 19 games (Transfermarkt).
The 35-capped Iceland international can play anywhere along the front-line but is at his best when operating on the left wing or in the number 10 role.
Gudmundsson is a very good dribbler, has impressive pace, impeccable technical ability and possesses a wicked delivery (Breaking the Lines).
The Icelandic ace possesses everything that we are currently lacking in the final third, in the absence of our three starting forwards.
I would love him at the London Stadium, but whether we’re able to beat Aston Villa to his signature in the January transfer window remains to be seen.
