West Ham United have made a move to sign attacker Albert Guðmundsson from Genoa in the January transfer window.

David Moyes is keen to bring the 26-year-old attacker to West Ham in the January transfer window, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Hammers manager currently has a mini attacking crisis on his hands, with Lucas Paqueta, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen all out injured.

Meanwhile, star man Mohammed Kudus will be away for the next four or five weeks at AFCON with Ghana.

West Ham are being strongly linked with two attackers right now – Steven Bergwijn of Ajax and Sunderland star Jack Clarke. However, another name has now been added to the list.

The thought of having to play a front three of Said Benrahma, Danny Ings and Pablo Fornals for the next month or so is obviously not an appealing one for Moyes.

And the Scot is seemingly doing everything he can to change all of that before the January window slams shut…

West Ham eyeing move to sign Genoa attacker in January

Albert Guðmundsson is firmly on the Hammers’ radar this month according to Di Marzio, and the well-respected Italian journalist claims that the East London outfit have already made an approach to Genoa to sign him.

He has been on fire for Genoa so far this season, and has bagged 10 goals and three assists in 19 games (Transfermarkt).

The 35-capped Iceland international can play anywhere along the front-line but is at his best when operating on the left wing or in the number 10 role.

Guðmundsson is a very good dribbler, has impressive pace, impeccable technical ability and possesses a wicked delivery (Breaking the Lines).

Di Marzio claims that Genoa are demanding £17 million for the Icelandic attacker in the January window – a fee that West Ham apparently aren’t prepared to sign him for right now.

So it remains to be seen whether the Hammers owners change their stance and go back in with an improved offer for the Genoa star this month.
