Three more deals West Ham could get over the line on transfer deadline day

West Ham could still sign a few more players before the transfer window slams shut on deadline day tomorrow.

Hammers boss David Moyes has been on fire in the market so far this summer, bringing in eight new faces to the tune of around £180 million.

West Ham are the Premier League’s third biggest spenders behind only Manchester United and Chelsea, as things stand.

Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, Gianluca Scamacca, Maxwel Cornet, Thilo Kehrer, Emerson and Lucas Paqueta have all arrived at the London Stadium this summer.

It is already a 9/10 transfer window as far as we’re concerned. With Craig Dawson being linked with an exit from the London Stadium though (The Sun) and Vladimir Coufal well out of form, the additions of a centre-back and a right-back may well be on Moyes’s agenda.

Perhaps signing another attack-minded midfielder could be an option for Moyes.

Three deadline day deals West Ham could still get done

Whilst Moyes’s budget has probably been spent already, there are still some loan signings and free transfers that could be made.

Here are three in particular that we believe could go right down to the wire for the Hammers…

Jan Bednarek

The Sun claimed yesterday that West Ham have made an enquiry to sign the 26-year-old Southampton defender on a season-long loan.

He was in the top 10 in the Premier League for both interceptions and clearances last season (Premier League’s official website).

In 31 Premier league appearances last term, Bednarek averaged one tackle, 2.3 interceptions, 4.5 clearances and 2.9 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

He could be a very smart loan signing for us this season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

The Athletic’s David Ornstein confirmed that the Hammers are keen to sign the Manchester United ace before the window slams shut.

We would absolutely love the 24-year-old at the London Stadium. He’s absolutely rapid and that recovery pace should enable us to push further up the pitch.

With Moyes keen to transform us into more of a possession-based side, this could end up being a key transfer for us.

Ross Barkley

Now, this is one that we’re not overly keen on.

The 28-year-old is now available on a free transfer, having been released from his contract by Chelsea. Moyes has managed Barkley before during his time at Everton and West Ham have recently been linked with a move to sign the 33-capped England international (90Min).

We honestly think that Moyes should avoid a move for Barkley at all costs though. The 28-year-old is extremely injury prone and just isn’t the same player he once was.

West Ham may still spring a surprise or two on transfer deadline day tomorrow. In fairness though, we wouldn’t be shocked one little bit to see at least two of those three names mentioned join the club before the window slams shut tomorrow night.
