West Ham United have indeed made a bid for Brazilian midfielder Lazaro according to Flamengo’s vice president Marcelo Braz.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the 20-year-old Flamengo ace to the London Stadium according to the likes of Fabrizio Romano.

And it has been suggested that West Ham need to pay around £10 million to prise Lazaro away from Flamengo this summer.

That seems like very good value indeed to us.

David Moyes clearly needs to add some real quality to his central midfield ranks before the transfer window slams shut.

And it seems as though Lazaro is definitely someone who the Hammers want to sign…

West Ham have made Lazaro bid

When speaking to Brazilian outlet Lance, Braz responded when asked whether West Ham have made a bid for the talented 20-year-old:

“There was an offer, and Flamengo understands that it has to be improved. Whether it will be improved or not is not up to us. We are waiting (for a new offer). Lazaro is a very important player. We count on him. It depends much more on who wants to buy him, because we don’t want to sell. They already know the value we want.”

For just £10 million, we think that Lazaro would be an exceptional signing for West Ham United.

We think this is one that Moyes needs to get done as a matter or urgency.

The Brazilian has bagged eight goals and eight assists in 56 games for Flamengo (Transfermarkt) – not a bad return for someone so young.

The 20-year-old possesses unreal technical ability and has pace, energy and athleticism in abundance. He also possesses exceptional vision and an impressive work-rate.

All Things Selecao once described him as a ‘brilliant talent’.

Lazaro seems to be tailor made for the Premier League and would be a superb signing for West Ham this summer.

He is the kind of player who could go on to become an elite player in the game.

Whether the Hammers board are prepared to part with £10 million in order to secure his services remains to be seen though.
