Ismaila Sarr allegedly wants to stay in London in what is a huge boost for West Ham United and a big blow for Newcastle.
That’s according to Sky Sports reporter David Reed who was discussing the West Ham and Newcastle target this morning.
It seemed as though both clubs were set to miss out on the Senegalese ace with Aston Villa believed to be on the verge of signing him. That move broke down though.

And it seems clear as to why that happened now…
West Ham boost is a blow for Newcastle in Ismaila Sarr chase
Sky Sports reporter David Reed has suggested that the Watford forward wants to remain in London, when speaking on Sky Sports Good Morning Transfer Show (Tuesday August 23rd, 09:49 am):
“That move broke down (Sarr to Villa) after some reservations about what his intentions were. We now know that Sarr would like to stay in London for his next move, if he possibly could.”
David Moyes would surely love to have Sarr at the London Stadium.
Sarr has racked up 25 goals and 19 assists in 95 games for the Hornets (Transfermarkt).
Last season, he bagged five goals and two assists in 22 Premier League games (Transfermarkt). He has only chalked up 10 goals and eight assists in 50 Premier League games, and that may well be somewhat of a concern for Palace and West Ham.

He’s well capable of improving those numbers though.
The 24-year-old is a frightening talent with explosive pace. He has a really direct playing style and that combined with his speed would add so much to West Ham’s counter-attacking setup.
Described by well-renowned scouting website Breaking The Lines as an ‘electric’ winger, Sarr has so much to offer at the very highest level of the game.
He could be available for around £25-30 million according to FootMercato. That seems like very good value to us.
And according to Sky Sports News reporter David Reed, West Ham are better positioned than Newcastle to sign the Watford ace this summer.
