West Ham United could be in line to make some really exciting transfers before the January transfer window closes next week.

Kalvin Phillips is closing in on a move to join West Ham on loan it seems, an we apparently have an option to buy him next summer as well.

Hammers boss David Moyes isn’t done there though, with many more reinforcements needed in order to complete his squad.

West Ham have been superb in the Premier League and the Europa League this season but to maintain that form, Moyes definitely needs to make at least one more singing after the Phillips deal is done.

And it seems like that’s exactly what the Hammers boss is planning to do.

The Guardian claims that West Ham are still in the market for a left winger, and have been targeting a centre-back as well.

Exciting times ahead for us indeed…

The Guardian make exciting claim about two transfers West Ham want

Moyes has been linked with numerous left wingers already this month, including the likes of Jack Clarke, Steven Bergwijn and Jota.

The same can be said for central defenders, with the likes of Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapie being linked with moves to the London Stadium.

With Nayef Aguerd away at AFCON, Konstantinos Mavropanos struggling for consistency and Kurt Zouma continuing to struggle with injuries, signing a centre-back should be an absolute must for Moyes this month.

The same can be said for the addition of a new left winger. Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals will surely leave this month, and bringing in someone like Clarke or Bergwijn would take us to another level.

It feels to me like the Hammers are on the cusp of achieving something really special this season. And with the additions of a couple of top-class players before the window closes, we’ll be in great shape.

The Guardian claiming that West Ham are targeting a couple more transfers over the course of the next week should be a big boost for the fans.

You’ve got to give it to Moyes and the board, they do seem like they’re really trying to make things happen this month.
