A Sky Sports reporter has made a shock claim about what David Moyes really thinks of West Ham squad.
West Ham manager David Moyes has somewhat of a mini crisis on his hands, with Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Michail Antonio and Mohammed Kudus all expected to be unavailable for selection for at least a month.
The Hammers boss has been heavily linked with numerous attacking players already in the January transfer window including the likes of Steven Bergwijn and Jack Clarke.
West Ham have made a really fine start to the 2023/24 campaign, both domestically and on the continent, and it would be such a shame for the season to implode because of a few injuries.
There is obviously a preventative measure for that, and that’s signing some players this month.
However, it seems as though that might not be happening…
What David Moyes really thinks of West Ham squad
Quite amazingly, Sky Sports claim that Moyes is ‘very happy’ with his squad at the London Stadium right now.
Listen, even if Moyes had every single player fit and available, it could be argued that he would still need three or four players to complete his squad.
I find the fact that he’s ‘very happy’ with his squad truly shocking. I’m not for one minute suggesting that Moyes should panic buy this month, but it’s painfully obvious to see that the 60-year-old needs to drastically freshen up his squad.
There are five or six players who need to be moved on asap. Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals, Aaron Cresswell, Danny Ings, Ben Johnson and Maxwel Cornet are clearly not trusted by Moyes.
They all need to be shipped out and the Scot has to bring in players who can compete properly with the starting XI players.
I’m not suggesting for one minute that the Hammers boss will be able to do all of that business in January.
However, the fact that he’s supposedly really happy with his current West Ham squad is really worrying as far as I’m concerned. The Scot’s current squad desperately needs strengthening, whether that happens in January or the summer.
