Al Ittihad are trying to sign West Ham United centre-back Nayef Aguerd on transfer deadline day.

According to Saudi Arabian football journalist Salem Alklib, the Saudi club could make a move to sign Nayef Aguerd from West Ham on transfer deadline day.

It was claimed just two weeks ago that West Ham might consider selling Aguerd, 27, if a reasonable offer comes in for him this summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes brought the Morocco international to the London Stadium last summer for around £30 million (Sky Sports), but he endured a very up and down start to life at the London Stadium.

It seems as though Aguerd is a target for Al Ittihad on deadline day, according to Salem Alklib:

I have to say, if there is any chance whatsoever of getting in a last-minute replacement for Aguerd, selling him to a Saudi club today would be well worth it.

The Moroccan is quite simply too error-prone and rash in the challenge, as good he undoubtedly can be at times.

It will be really interesting to see what West Ham do with this one on transfer deadline day.

One thing’s for sure, he won’t be sold if a ready made replacement can’t be brought into the London Stadium before 11pm tonight.
