Al Ittihad are trying to sign West Ham United centre-back Nayef Aguerd on transfer deadline day.
Hammers boss David Moyes brought the Morocco international to the London Stadium last summer for around £30 million (Sky Sports), but he endured a very up and down start to life at the London Stadium.
He suffered a serious injury before the Premier League season even started last year. When he did regain full fitness he showed some really impressive form.
However, Aguerd is incredibly inconsistent, and put in a really poor display against Chelsea recently – one that culminated in his sending off. He was absolutely savaged by Jamie Carragher for his performance.
And now it seems like he could be set for a surprise deadline day exit…
Shock report claims Saudi club want to sign £30m West Ham star on transfer deadline day
It seems as though Aguerd is a target for Al Ittihad on deadline day, according to Salem Alklib:
I have to say, if there is any chance whatsoever of getting in a last-minute replacement for Aguerd, selling him to a Saudi club today would be well worth it.
The Moroccan is quite simply too error-prone and rash in the challenge, as good he undoubtedly can be at times.
It will be really interesting to see what West Ham do with this one on transfer deadline day.
One thing’s for sure, he won’t be sold if a ready made replacement can’t be brought into the London Stadium before 11pm tonight.
