West Ham United reportedly could make a last gasp swoop for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher this week.

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is firmly on the West Ham radar with summer transfer window deadline day closing in fast, according to Football Insider.

The East London outfit have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 23-year-old Blues midfielder all summer long – most recently just a couple of weeks ago.

Bizarre report claims West Ham want to sign yet another midfielder from London rivals – Conor Gallagher

Football Insider reckon that the Hammers are plotting a last-gasp move to sign the hard-working Blues midfielder this week.

With the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia at Stamford Bridge, Gallagher may well find it hard to get regular first-team football for Chelsea this season.

I wouldn’t be surprised one little bit if the 23-year-old leaves Chelsea this summer. However, I would be shocked if West Ham signed him.

Firstly, the Blues are demanding around £50 million for the England international (talkSPORT) – a fee that we simply can’t afford right now.

And secondly, there is nowhere for the Chelsea man to fit in this current Hammers side, with the recent arrivals of Ward-Prowse and Alvarez.

Let’s face it, this one won’t be happening. David Moyes has far more pressing priorities than bringing Conor Gallagher to West Ham this summer.
