West Ham are ready to make a second bid for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana even after the capture of Flynn Downes from Swansea City.
That’s according to a report from Get Football News France who claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is still keen to strengthen his central midfield ranks further still.

The Hammers moved on to the £12 million signing of Flynn Downes from Swansea instead.
It appears as though Moyes is not satisfied though, and wants further reinforcements in central midfield before the start of the new season.

And the Scot is allegedly set to re-focus his attention on one of his previous transfer targets…
West Ham set to make second Onana bid
Get Football News France claim that the Hammers have ‘scheduled’ a second bid for the powerful 20-year-old Lille midfielder.
Let’s hope that the powers that be at the London Stadium manage to get this one over the line.
What a signing Onana would be for West Ham.
He seems to have absolutely everything needed to succeed in the English game what with its intense nature and ferocious speed and tempo.
The 6ft 5in central midfielder is an absolute giant.
He’s powerful, energetic and has everything that Moyes will be looking for in the middle of the park.
The Belgium international is equally as strong with both feet, and that’s somewhat of a rarity in the modern game.

In 32 Ligue 1 outings for Lille last season, Onana averaged 1.5 tackles and one interception per game. He made 20 passes on average per match and recorded a completion rate of 84% (Who Scored).
The 20-year-old is an absolute powerhouse of a player and would be an unreal addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
Onana is a really special talent. He has been described by Sport Magazine as a ‘sensational’ young player.
One thing’s for sure, if the Hammers sign the midfielder in the summer transfer window, we will be a much stronger team next season than we were this term.
The prospect of having the Lille ace and Downes competing with Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek for regular action is an extremely tantalising one.
Quite how much West Ham are prepared to bid for Onana remains to be seen. Let’s just hope that it is an offer that Lille deem as an acceptable one.
