West Ham United have allegedly made an official €23 million (£20 million) bid for talented Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.
That’s according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth who claims that the bid has been rejected by Lille, who are reluctant to sell the 20-year-old powerhouse midfielder.

Central midfield is definitely an area at the London Stadium where West Ham manager David Moyes needs to strengthen before the start of next season.

Mark Noble has retired whilst Alex Kral was let go on Friday after an incredibly underwhelming loan spell with the Hammers.
And it seems as though Moyes has a very exciting plan up his sleeve to bolster his engine room options this summer…
West Ham make Amadou Onana bid
The 20-year-old powerhouse midfielder is one of the game’s very brightest young talents.
And the Hammers have allegedly made the first move to sign him, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth:
What a signing Onana would be for West Ham.
He seems to have absolutely everything needed to succeed in the English game what with its intense nature and ferocious speed and tempo.
The 6ft 6in central midfielder is an absolute giant.
He’s powerful, energetic and has everything that Moyes will be looking for in the middle of the park.
The Belgium international is equally as strong with both feet, and that’s somewhat of a rarity in the modern game.
In 32 Ligue 1 outings for Lille last season, Onana averaged 1.5 tackles and one interception per game. He made 20 passes on average per match and recorded a completion rate of 84% (Who Scored).

The 20-year-old is an absolute powerhouse of a player and would be an unreal addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
Onana is a really special talent. He has been described by Sport Magazine as a ‘sensational’ young player.
One thing’s for sure, if the Hammers sign the midfielder in the summer transfer window, we will be a much stronger team next season than we were this term.
And it will be interesting to see whether West Ham make an increased bid for Amadou Onana over the course of the next few days.
The Hammers need to go all out for the Belgian. He could end up being a huge significant signing for the club.
