Everton and Nottingham Forest are reportedly plotting a last minute January transfer window deal for £100k-a-week West Ham player Michail Antonio.

That’s according to a report from The Sunday Mirror (January 29th, page 78) who claim that Everton and Nottingham Forest both want to prise Antonio, 32, away from the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow.

talkSPORT claimed a couple of weeks ago that the Jamaica international could be on his way out of the London Stadium this month.

And I must say, if we can get a half decent fee for him, David Moyes should not think twice about shipping him out of the club…

Both Premier League clubs want to sign Antonio. Wolves are said to be in the race as well.

The 32-year-old attacker has been in horrendous form over the past 12 months for West Ham. It is his poor attitude and off-field activities that have really got under the Hammers fans’ noses though.

Why is he participating in a podcast when his team are in a relegation battle? Why is he openly suggesting that he could leave the club? Why did he demand more competition last season, and then sulk like a big baby when he was handed exactly that this term in the form of Gianluca Scamacca, after he lost his place to the Italian?

I really do feel like it’s time for Antonio to move on. Everton or Nottingham Forest are welcome to the West Ham forward as far as I’m concerned.

Antonio, who earns £100k-a-week at West Ham is reportedly open to leaving the club this month as well.

Quite what we were doing handing out such a large and generous new contract to an injury prone, ageing attacker last year is anyone’s guess.

Hopefully we are not made to pay too badly for that call though, and Everton or Forest take Antonio off our hands.

The 32-year-old is absolutely finished as a Premier League forward in my opinion. And the sooner that David Moyes makes a proper upgrade on him the better in my opinion.
