A board confidant’s hugely reassuring update explains how West Ham can sign Jesse Lingard after the Prem squad deadline.
There has been claim and counter claim about whether West Ham will offer Jesse Lingard a deal of late.
Having warmed to the idea and some initial trepidation, many West Ham fans have been concerned the free agent might be heading elsewhere following interest from the likes of Wolves.
After training with West Ham for three weeks, that would be a real kick in the teeth. Especially after Lingard snubbed the Hammers for Forest when he looked nailed on to return to the London Stadium last summer.
With the Premier League squad deadline looming large in just over 24 hours on Wednesday September 13th at 2pm, an announcement on Lingard’s future was expected imminently.

‘No interference from above’ Board confidant’s hugely reassuring update explains how West Ham can sign Jesse Lingard after Prem squad deadline
There has been some uncertainty over whether Lingard can be signed after Wednesday’s squad deadline and who at the club is driving the move.
Now a board confidant’s hugely reassuring update explains how West Ham can sign Lingard after the Prem squad deadline.
Sean Whetstone, who counts vice-chair Karren Brady and majority owner David Sullivan among his contacts, has issued an update after David Moyes spoke on Tuesday to confirm Lingard continues to train with West Ham.
And Whetstone’s Hammers source has also insisted there will be ‘no interference from above’ with the Lingard decision solely down to the manager.

‘Premier League permission not normally withheld is club has spare space’
“A decision whether or not to sign Jesse Lingard on a short-term contract will be solely down to David Moyes without any interference from the club,” Whetstone said.
“The club must submit their 25-man squad tomorrow (Wednesday 13th September) at 2pm to the Premier League but free agents can still be added to squads past that deadline with permission from the Premier League board which is not normally withheld if the club has a spare squad place.”
Lingard has been on something of a West Ham charm offensive of late with his posts on social media.
But fans who want to see him handed a permanent deal were worried when he then appeared to be talking in riddles again with a cryptic message having played 75 minutes for West Ham against Ipswich in a behind-closed-doors friendly during the international break.
And yesterday Lingard sent a new four-word social media post from a luxury taxi presumably on his way home from training at Rush Green.
