Free agent Jesse Lingard has continued his West Ham United charm offensive with a new post on social media.

Just when many West Ham fans had started to warm to the idea of re-signing Jesse Lingard, there have been fears he could go elsewhere.

As reported on Hammers News yesterday, a move to DC United in MLS fell through but Saudi clubs, Turkish duo Galatasaray and Fenerbahce and now Wolves allegedly want Lingard too.

A decision on any West Ham deal for free agent Lingard is due in the coming week before the club has to submit its squad to the Premier League on September 13th.

Initial frosty Lingard reception has thawed among large section of West Ham fans

After an initially frosty reaction to the news Lingard was training with the club with a view to signing as a free agent, many Hammers fans have warmed to the idea.

Supporters have fond memories of the midfielder shining during his unforgettable six-month loan spell at the London Stadium – where he helped fire West Ham to within one win of Champions League qualification and their record Premier League points total.

While some are ambivalent about whether he signs, many are open to “forgiving” Lingard for his decision to snub West Ham for Forest last year.

Lingard revealed the reason for that decision was that he did not “feel the love” from West Ham at the time.

Free agent Jesse Lingard continues West Ham charm offensive with new social media post

David Moyes has shown Lingard plenty of love this summer by allowing him to train with West Ham at Rush Green in a bid to improve his fitness and earn a deal.

And the Scot has remarked that he has been impressed by the fleet-footed 30-year-old.

Lingard has been embarking on something of a charm offensive in what many see as an attempt to win over any sceptical West Ham fans.

Last weekend he posted on social showing himself working up a sweat in training and watching West Ham win as the decision on signing him looms.

Time TikTok’ing down on any West Ham move for Lingard

Lingard posted a selfie in his West Ham training kit on Snapchat captioned ‘Midday vibes’ which you can see in the post below.

Many feel signing Lingard on a free is a no-brainer.

Especially with the Hammers set for another 50-game plus season.

West Ham will also likely be missing four players for up to five games – three of them absolutely key – over the winter.

And an injury to one of the club’s new signings in training, which it is hoped is not serious, highlights just how important a deep squad is.
