Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea outburst is music to West Ham’s ears after an exciting new claim about Armando Broja.
Both West Ham and Chelsea were very active in the summer and may well cross paths in the January transfer window it seems.
After sizeable rebuilds for both the Hammers and the Blues – Chelsea’s clearly being bigger and more expensive than West Ham’s – both clubs have been accused of neglecting a key area.
West Ham were already counting the cost of failing to sign a new striker in the summer. That was before an injury to ageing Michail Antonio during the last international break seriously exposed the club’s lack of depth in that key area.

Pochettino’s Chelsea outburst music to West Ham’s ears
Chelsea did have a striker signed in the shape of Christopher Nkunku. But the France international is yet to make his competitive debut for the Blues after a knee during pre-season.
It is fair to say Chelsea’s biggest problem all season has been not having a deadly finisher to put the ball in the net, often dominating games only to lose or draw.
The Hammers have been incessantly linked with a move to sign Chelsea forward Armando Broja for the best part of two years now.
David Moyes admitted last week that West Ham do want to sign a striker next month.
The likes of TEAMtalk have previously claimed West Ham will renew their attempts to sign Broja from Chelsea in January.
And Football Transfers repeated that claim just yesterday.
So Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea outburst is music to West Ham’s ears after the exciting Broja claim.

Comments come after exciting Hammers Broja claim
Because he has made it clear he doesn’t see Broja as the answer after calling on the club’s owners to sign a striker in January.
And with new scrutiny on clubs like Chelsea over FFP – West Ham will hope that can only help their chances of finally landing Slough-born Broja.
After the defeat at Everton, Pochettino says Chelsea are “missing something” up front and believes it is clear for all to see.
“It’s about improving,” Pochettino said as reported by Sky Sports.
“If we are not able to score today with all the chances we had… we have to score if we want to win the game…
“The team played well against a very difficult team like Everton. We were much better than them but you need to score…

‘We need to improve our reality’
“After the first half of the season, we need to check. That is the reality. If we are not receiving enough, maybe we need to do some movement. That is the thing to analyse with the sporting directors, to see if we can change this dynamic and improve in the second half of the season.
“We need to be more aggressive. Then it’s a massive assessment and when the transfer window opens, we will see what we can do. I don’t say if I am going to ask for more or less players. It’s to see if the perception matches the reality.
“We are missing something. We need to improve our reality.”
West Ham fans and Moyes will be hoping that reality will see Broja sold on as Chelsea look to bring in a new forward.
