David Moyes has made a hugely exciting West Ham transfer admission to Les Ferdinand with the January window looming.
West Ham fans have been urging the club to sign a striker in the January transfer window having failed to replace Gianluca Scamacca.
When it comes to West Ham and strikers it too often feels like groundhog day.
Scamacca joined a long list when he became the 51st of 52 West Ham striker signings in 13 years.
But, like far too many of the others, he failed to hit it off at West Ham and was sold to Atalanta after just one season.

It says everything about David Moyes’ difficulties in signing a proper forward that he was not replaced.
Last month Hammers boss Moyes fully opened up on his search for an heir to Michail Antonio.
The Scot admitted it has been difficult to find the the right striker. And he said he hoped Jarrod Bowen could ‘fill in the gap’ until he does.
Now Moyes has made a hugely exciting West Ham transfer admission to Les Ferdinand.
West Ham have been linked with a host of forwards ahead of the January window including the likes of Serhou Guirassy and Hugo Ekitike to name just two.
After the win over Spurs, Ferdinand put Moyes on the spot over whether he wants to sign a striker in January. And his answer will give West Ham fans hope.

“Yea (I am looking at signing a new number nine),” Moyes told Ferdinand on Amazon Prime TV.
“Yea I think if we could get the right one.
“But you know I don’t know how many teams are looking for number nines! I think nearly everybody is.
“And you know I hear it and I hear people talk about it you know ‘they need a number nine’ – by the way Jarrod’s got another goal tonight, he can play off the right, we started him off the right and played Mo (Kudus) in (the striker role).
“Because we think Mo can probably do a little bit as a nine as well. Not like I can imagine Les playing in his day, a completely different type. But we’ve got boys who can hold onto the ball, carry it, take it in if we can get it.
“But Jarrod can run in behind and score goals and he’s beginning to get that feeling that he wants to be a striker. And I think when you start scoring goals you want the feeling to continue.”
