West Ham United now know how much we will have to pay to sign Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire this summer.
According to a report from the Independent, West Ham are intent on signing Harry Maguire from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, and we might be able to pick him up for a decent fee after all.

The East London outfit have been trying to sign the 30-year-old Man United man all summer long, and recently made a £20 million offer for him – one that was rejected by the Premier League giants.

His mammoth wages are proving to be a stumbling block as well, but Hammers boss David Moyes is refusing to give up on signing the 57-capped England international.
And now the West Ham board know exactly how much is needed to prise Maguire away from Old Trafford…
Manchester United tell West Ham exactly what we must pay to sign Harry Maguire
The Independent claim that Man United could accept as little as £30 million for the 30-year-old defender.
Now, there are two ways of looking at this. Firstly, most of us would prefer Moyes to target young and hungry players with high ceilings. Maguire certainly doesn’t fit into that category.
However, we have lost our club captain over the past two seasons, and another experienced player Aaron Cresswell is being heavily linked with an exit from the club.
So signing an experienced international may well be a smart move from Moyes – especially someone who is well-renowned for being a leader.

The Manchester United man is a very good player as well, make no mistake about that.
The 57-capped England international’s teammate Luke Shaw described him as ‘unbelievable’ recently (The Mirror). I agree with the Man United left-back – the 30-year-old is one of the very best around when playing in a deep back-line, or as part of a back three.
That’s why I think he’d be so suited to the way that West Ham play. We sit back deep and rumours are circulating that Moyes could deploy a system with three centre-backs this season.
If Moyes really wants Harry Maguire, then the West Ham owners quite simply must back him and get a deal for the Man United centre-back done before the start of the season.
