Big James Ward-Prowse to West Ham twist as The Athletic make fresh claim
The Athletic reckon that the Hammers have in fact not yet thrown in the towel in the race for JWP’s signature.
I think that the Southampton man would be a strong addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium, but we really shouldn’t be paying much more than £35 million for him.
I would imagine that it will take at least that fee to prise him away from St Mary’s, but if the south coast outfit continue to demand in excess of £40 million for him, we need to just walk away.
There are plenty of other options out there available to us this summer.
David Moyes has to bring in genuine quality, but also needs to ensure that he gets the best value possible for the Hammers.
West Ham could do with someone like James Ward-Prowse for his set-piece ability alone. However, if Southampton refuse to sell him for £35 million or less, then Moyes needs to start looking elsewhere.
