West Ham United have been handed a major boost in the race to sign striker target Hugo Ekitike in the January transfer window.
Hugo Ekitike is believed to be firmly on the West Ham radar in the January transfer window, and we’ve been tipped to secure his signature this winter ahead of the likes of Crystal Palace.
However, L’Equipe reporting that Wolves, Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg had entered the race for the 21-year-old was a huge concern.
Ekitike is a really exciting young talent, and Hammers boss David Moyes would take us to another level if he signed the Frenchman.
So the fact that we face such strong competition for his signature is really frustrating. Do we really face such a battle to sign him though?

According to a report from Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg have dropped out of the race to sign the young striker because they can’t afford his salary demands:
Ekitike is said to be demanding £100-115k-a-week then. West Ham would easily be able to stretch to that wage, as long as we get some big earners of our books in January, including the likes of Danny Ings.
I would love us to bring the forward to the London Stadium this winter, and to see him breath fire back into his career.

And it’s clear to see that the 21-year-old striker has all of the talent in the world. The move to PSG just came at the wrong time for him in his career.
They had Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at the time, so he was never going to get a look-in was he!

He possesses absolutely blistering pace, is strong in the air and is a very good finisher. The PSG forward would complete our attacking lineup as far as I’m concerned.
And the door may well now be wide open for West Ham to sign a key striker target this summer. Come on Moyes, make it happen!
