Journalist who broke Lucas Paqueta transfer makes Declan Rice to Arsenal claim that will concern the West Ham fans.
CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has been speaking to Give Me Sport, and suggested that Arsenal may now be able to sign Declan Rice from West Ham for less than our current asking price.

Ben Jacobs reckons that the Gunners are in a very strong position to sign him, and we should listen what Jacobs has to say.
Lucas Paqueta ended up joining West Ham three weeks after Jacobs’ claim. So worryingly, the CBS journalist obviously knows his stuff.
Journalist who broke Paqueta makes very worrying Declan Rice to Arsenal claim
Ben Jacobs provided a lengthy update on the current situation regarding the 24-year-old midfielder, when speaking to Give Me Sport:

“With Declan Rice, a lot of the prep is being done internally at Arsenal as they start to understand what they may need to get Rice and what is more gamesmanship on the West Ham side. So, this British transfer record number and David Moyes has even said as large as £120m is, in my opinion, unrealistic from West Ham. Comparing Rice to Enzo Fernandez is not necessarily apt. Of course, if we’re comparing footballer to footballer, you can make a comparison. But the situation with Enzo was that he had a sky-high release clause, and Chelsea desperately wanted him. Whereas with Declan Rice, he’s got one year plus a one-year extension left on the contract. That affects the valuation, as does Declan Rice wanting to leave West Ham. After being extremely firm on keeping him last summer, there has always been an understanding that Rice could depart for the right opportunity, and West Ham have been resigned in many ways to losing Rice.”
The Hammers are apparently demanding around £120 million from a Champions League club for the 41-capped England International this summer (Sky Sports).
However, that price may be a little steep according to Jacobs.
It seems as though West Ham might lose Declan Rice to Arsenal, or another top club for that matter, for quite a bit less than £120 million.
I feel like he will end up leaving for closer to £90-100 million. That would still be very good business for the club, and then the most important thing will be getting Dec’s replacement 100% spot on. We can still move on as a club and make some real progress if Moyes nails his transfer business this summer.
Still, Jacob’s update on Declan Rice potentially joining Arsenal this summer will be a frustrating one to read for the West Ham fans.
