Sebastien Haller bagged a brace for Borussia Dortmund yesterday and fired them to the top of the Bundesliga table in the process.
West Ham sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January 2021 for around £20 million (The Times). He then left the Dutch side to join Borussia Dortmund for £30 million in the summer of 2022 (Goal).

At the time, David Moyes thought the Hammers wouldn’t get a better offer, so chose to move the Ivory Coast international on.

However, since then selling Haller it has looked like a huge error from the West Ham manager. Haller bagged 47 goals and 16 assists in 66 games for Ajax and has notched nine goals and five assists in 21 outings for Dortmund (Transfermarkt).
The 28-year-old recently recovered from testicular cancer, so the fact that he is playing football at the highest level with Borussia Dortmund again really is quite remarkable.

West Ham will be filled with huge Sebastien Haller regret after his Borussia Dortmund heroics
The 28-year-old scored twice as Dortmund beat Augsburg 3-0 away from home yesterday afternoon.
The result put his side top of the Bundesliga table, two points clear of Bayern Munich with only one game remaining this season.

Dortmund play at home to Mainz next weekend, where a win will secure them their first Bundesliga title since 2012.
What a fairytale story this could be for Sebastien Haller, but it will once again shine a light on the poor decision making from West Ham manager Moyes when it comes to transfer decisions.
I would wager a guess that the Scot is regretting his decision to move the Ivorian on in 2021.
Had Moyes set up his team differently, Haller could have been a huge success with West Ham, I’m absolutely sure of it.
