Liverpool are allegedly eyeing up a big summer swoop for ex-West Ham United centre-forward Sebastien Haller.
That’s according to a report from Blaze Trends who claim that the Liverpool hierarchy believe that the 27-year-old hitman has a lot to offer at the very highest level.

Haller joined West Ham from Eintracht Frankfurt way back in the summer of 2019 for around £45 million (BBC).
The striker bagged just 14 goals and three assists in 54 games for West Ham though (Transfermarkt). And David Moyes moved him on to Ajax in January 2021 for around £20 million (The Times).
Haller has been a huge hit with Ajax and it seems as though his form for the Dutch giants has piqued the interest of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Ivory Coast international has been on fire for Ajax, racking up 46 goals and 16 assists in just 58 games so far (Transfermarkt). He has been absolutely unplayable in the Champions League this season too with 11 goals to his name.
And it seems as though Haller could be set for a return to the Premier League…
Liverpool eyeing summer move for Sebastien Haller
Blaze Trends reckon that the Reds are in a three-way battle with Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan to sign the 27-year-old Ajax striker.
Signing Haller would be an incredibly bold move from Liverpool boss Klopp, considering how much he struggled in the Premier League with West Ham.
The Ajax ace is a target man striker.
He is very good in the air and is obviously a very good finisher. He lacks any kind of pace though and his physical capabilities weren’t suited to the robust nature of the Premier League.

Haller did not suit the way in which West Ham play one little bit and it could be argued that he wouldn’t be a very good fit for Liverpool either.
The Reds play with an incredibly high intensity and whoever operates in the centre-forward role usually drops deep and helps to link up play between midfield and attack.
Roberto Firmino is the perfect example of the kind of striker Klopp likes and it must be said that Haller just isn’t that type of player.
Blaze Trends suggest that Ajax will demand around €50 million (£41 million) for Haller this summer. That’s an awful lot of money to be paying for someone who struggled so much in the Premier League before.
From the perspective of a West Ham fan though, it would be interesting to see whether Klopp could get a tune out of him at Liverpool. If that did happen, then our decision to sell him for just £20 million 15 months ago would look even more ridiculous.
Perhaps David Moyes wishes that he had kept Haller at the London Stadium. We still haven’t signed a replacement since he was moved onto Ajax. If he did return to the Premier League it would ask a lot of questions regarding Moyes’s judgment.
Whether Liverpool are really in the race to sign the 27-year-old is debatable though.
