West Ham have been linked with a plethora of players already with the summer transfer window having been open less than a week.
And two names being consistently mentioned as targets are Southampton and England midfielder Ward-Prowse and Sevilla striker En-Nesyri.
West Ham have been linked with Moroccan forward En-Nesyri for the last three transfer windows.
But they have previously been priced out of a move by Sevilla, the Spanish side West Ham memorably knocked out in the Europa League last 16.
Links to Ward-Prowse are new this summer and seem to have emerged since a move for Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips was knocked back in January.
Moyes needs to sign at least six or seven players to reshape his West Ham side following a raft of departures.
Retired captain Mark Noble recently spoke out stating West Ham were already three players short in key areas LAST SEASON.
That was before he and several others left the club.
The Mirror’s assistant editor Lewis is known to have strong connections at West Ham.
And now Lewis has delivered an update on West Ham moves for Ward-Prowse and striker En-Nesyri.
“David Moyes is keen to take Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse to West Ham…” Lewis reports in The Mirror.
“Moyes wants to add fresh quality and is prioritising players who are Premier League-ready. Meanwhile Moyes is also weighing up whether to go back in for Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri after seeing a £27million bid rejected in January of last year. The Spanish club sought as much as £40million at the time.
“Moroccan international En-Nesyri, 25, had come off the back of a superb season, hitting 23 goals for his club at the time. Over the past campaign, however, Sevilla have seen El-Nesyri’s form dip massively with just five La Liga goals in 10 months. Injuries and Covid are believed to have contributed to the dip and Sevilla are understood to be ready to cash in on him.”
