West Ham United could still have a chance of signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran on deadline day.
That’s because Aston Villa are thought to be in the market for another centre-forward, so Jhon Duran joining West Ham on deadline day wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world.
Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten desperately tried to bring Jhon Duran to West Ham earlier on in the window, and a deal was very close to happening.
And now, the Hammers may well have a second bite at the cherry.
So, after what feels like an age, transfer deadline day is finally upon us, and West Ham have one final shot as turning a 9/10 window into the perfect 10.
Lopetegui has worked wonders at the London Stadium this summer, but the West Ham head coach needs to make at least one more top quality signing, if he is to guide us to success on all fronts this season.
The Hammers fans are buzzing with excitement about what the future holds for us, and Lopetegui has insisted that he’s after even more new signings.
However, the Spaniard will have to get rid of some of the fringe players first, before he can even think about making any new signings.
If he manages to do just that, we could be in for a wild ride today, with a couple of incomings possible…
Jhon Duran door open for West Ham
The South American starlet’s future surely lies away from Villa Park.
I just don’t envisage a scenario where a player can push that hard to leave, disrespect his club that much (doing the crossed Hammers sign during a live stream) and not be sold.

Now there could be a real chance that the Hammers could sign him on deadline day in my opinion, because of a plan Villa apparently have up their sleeve.
According to a report from Caught Offside, Villa are debating whether or not to make a move to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Calvert-Lewin has bagged 68 goals in 249 games for Everton – 54 of which have come in the Premier League.
If Unai Emery does bring the 27-year-old to Villa Park, I think that will be a clear indication that he’s willing to let Duran leave the club.
And West Ham should be monitoring this situation very closely indeed throughout the day.
Jhon Duran perfect for West Ham
The talented Colombia international possesses absolutely blistering pace, has incredible movement and a real wicked shot on him.
Duran has the talent and potential to go on and become one of the most feared number nines in world football.
He’s obviously still very raw right now, but that’s what makes him so perfect to come into the London Stadium and learn from Niclas Fullkrug.
Earlier on in the window, it seemed for all the world that Jhon Duran would join West Ham from Aston Villa.
That didn’t happen in the end for one reason or another, but now it seems like a deal could very much be back on, if Villa sign Calvert-Lewin on transfer deadline day.
Come on Unai, bring the Everton striker to the West Midlands, you know it makes sense!
