A big West Ham transfer business update has just been provided by a top source at the club.

Julen Lopetegui has overseen a huge squad overhaul at West Ham this summer, and some of his transfer business has been exceptional.

The Hammers head coach has brought in eight fantastic new signings, and is apparently in the process of trying to sell the likes of Danny Ings.

The West Ham squad is head and shoulders above the one that Lopetegui inherited six weeks ago.

Lopetegui, Tim Steidten, and of course David Sullivan, all deserve huge credit for getting the squad in the shape that it is right now.

If Lopetegui is given time and patience, there’s no reason why he can’t get this group of players into the Champions League within three years.

However, for now, there are a few more jobs that need to be done for the Spaniard and his transfer team…

West Ham transfer business update

It has been a truly sensational summer transfer window so far for the Hammers, there is no denying that.

Now it could well be a case of balancing the books for David Sullivan.

This summer has been one of the most hectic transfer windows that I can remember as a West Ham fan, and even more activity is on its way!

West Ham insider Sean Whetstone took to his X account to provide an update on the current transfer activity at the London Stadium.

Whetstone has shared what a senior London Stadium source told him about the final two weeks of the transfer window.

The Hammers insider received this message: “The focus is now on getting a few fringe players out to get them off the wage bill and bring in a bit of money. Sadly that is easier said than done, but that is where our attention is.

I think that’s actually good news.

West Ham desperately need to move on all of the deadwood in order to free up some more cash and salary space.

Kurt Zouma, Maxwel Cornet, Danny Ings and Nayef Aguerd should all be moved on before the summer transfer window slams shut.

And if Lopetegui is able to get rid of two or three of those names mentioned above, there’s no reason why he can’t add one or two more players to his ranks.

West Ham United’s transfer business has been stunning this summer, and I think it will continue to get better and better.
