West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui is undoubtedly a man on a mission this summer.
Julen Lopetegui replaced David Moyes in the West Ham hot-seat earlier this summer, and has gone about his business in a ruthless, efficient and relentless manner.
The Hammers head coach has brought in eight fantastic new signings so far, and now his attention is reportedly turning to shifting on some of the deadwood.
That said, if he is successful in moving on three or four players, there is no doubt that he will make further signings.
The future seems very bright indeed for West Ham, and I feel like we have a squad capable of challenging on all fronts.
A top seven finish should definitely be within our reach, but the relentless Lopetegui wants even more.
That’s the kind of attitude we need form the manager.
Julen Lopetegui admission will leave West Ham fans buzzing
The 57-year-old is clearly intent on overseeing some real progress at the London Stadium over the next the next few years.
We certainly have a stronger and more competitive squad now than we have ever had before.

And Lopetegui has just dropped a big transfer bombshell, when speaking to the Spanish media.
During an exclusive interview Marca (print edition August 15h, page 21),Lopetegui opened up on what has already been a frantic summer transfer window.
And the Hammers boss made an incredibly exciting statement.
The Spaniard said, “We had a short [small] squad, and the idea is to have two players per position. We haven’t achieved that yet… but we are working on it,”
“All the signings are to our liking and that of the sporting management. No coach should hold the keys to the future of the club. The idea was to bring in players who could know the Premier League so that British culture is in the dressing room, and then to be able to mix different ways of understanding football.”
Wow, it seems like Lopetegui is far from finished with his summer recruitment.
In order to bring in one or two more players though, he will need to move on some of the deadwood first.
It has been claimed that that is exactly what he’s planning to do, with Danny Ings, Maxwel Cornet and Kurt Zouma apparently up for sale.
If Zouma is moved on, I definitely think the Hammers chief will try to sign another centre-back, whilst it has been claimed that the addition of a new central midfielder is one of his main priorities as well.
There are 15 days remaining until the summer transfer window slams shut, and the majorly exciting thing for the West Ham fans is that Julen Lopetegui clearly has his eye on even more new arrivals.
The summer window has already been a brilliant for the Hammers, but it could be set to get even better still.
