Aston Villa star Jhon Duran has sparked a meltdown with a clear West Ham hint in a live video on social media.

West Ham and Aston Villa talks over Jhon Duran have dragged on for several weeks.

The Hammers have, thus far, been reluctant to pay Villa’s full £35m asking price for Duran.

And Aston Villa are refusing to do business for any less, hence West Ham’s latest offer of £30m plus young midfielder Lewis Orford being rejected.

The 20-year-old Colombian has has grown impatient at Villa as a result of an understandable lack of game time behind the brilliant Ollie Watkins.

New twist in West Ham’s pursuit of Villa star

But the way he has, at times, conducted himself has angered Villans boss Unai Emery and the club’s fans.

That continued this week when Duran spoke out on a move to West Ham saying he hopes ‘something concrete will happen’.

When the Hammers saw another bid rejected, though, a worrying claim emerged that Newcastle are looking to seize the Duran chance by outbidding the east Londoners.

Now Aston Villa star Duran has sparked meltdown with a clear West Ham hint in a live video on Instagram.

Villa star Duran drops clear West Ham hint in live video

During a live video on his Instagram account, the forward props his phone up on a table and does the crossed Hammers with arms.

The video, which you can see in the post below, has been widely shared by West Ham and Aston Villa fans on social media.

With very different reactions too.

West Ham fans have been lapping up Duran’s major hint he could be on his way to them.

But many Villa fans are furious with supporters calling his actions disrespectful.

Duran doing the crossed Hammers comes after two big updates on the situation.

West Ham exclusively told Hammers News yesterday that the Duran deal is proving ‘hard work’.

The top spokesman inside the club said Aston Villa are still asking for too much for Duran.

But last night The Daily Mail claimed West Ham may be ready to pay Villa’s full asking price after reaching the stalemate in negotiations.

Hammers set to give in to Villa’s demands?

West Ham have a long history of love affairs with hot-headed, maverick strikers.

They don’t all necessarily last long or end particularly well. But they have been enjoyable while they last nonetheless.

From Frank McAvennie to Paolo Di Canio, Craig Bellamy, Carlos Tevez and Marko Arnautovic to name but a few.

Hammers fans will be hoping Duran could be the next one.

But it says a lot that Villa may now be thinking it would be better to offload Duran given his very public displays of frustration since joining the club from Chicago Fire for £15m in January 2023.

Duran’s fledgling career so far in numbers:

Envigado (Colombia)

Chicago Fire FC (MLS)

Aston Villa (Premier League)
