Tim Steidten is the real winner as a West Ham deal with Man United is back on in a stunning new twist according to a journalist.
West Ham and Manchester United have become embroiled in a topsy turvy right-back battle over two stars.
The Hammers had been involved in protracted negotiations over signing Man United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
But when those talks reached deadlock, West Ham turned their attentions to Manchester United target Noussair Mazraoui.
That deal with Bayern Munich accelerated much more rapidly than West Ham’s attempts to sign Wan-Bissaka.
So much so that the Hammers overtook the Red Devils and Mazraoui’s former manager Erik ten Hag in a bid to sign the marauding Moroccan right-back.
West Ham deal with Man United takes stunning new twist
Hammers News called the situation three days ago, reporting that the Mazraoui bid was a masterclass from West Ham technical director Tim Steidten.
Steidten has a track record of making moves for targets of clubs with whom he’s trying to do business.
It worked a treat to enable Steidten to get Mohammed Kudus to West Ham last summer.
Hammers News claimed Manchester United had become Steidten’s latest victims.
But that looked like a false dawn because West Ham’s move for Mazraoui collapsed today leaving the path clear for Man United to sign the 26-year-old instead – as first reported by Hammers News on Friday morning.
At the same time it was being widely reported elsewhere that Wan-Bissaka does not want to join West Ham either.
Well now it looks like Steidten is the real winner as a West Ham deal with Man United takes a stunning new twist.

Steidten the real winner as Wan-Bissaka is right-back on
According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, West Ham’s move for Wan-Bissaka is back on.
Or should that be right-back on.
And just as Hammers News predicted, Steidten going after Mazraoui has suddenly sparked a change of heart from Manchester United in their demands for Wan-Bissaka.
“After the failed deal with Noussair Mazraoui, West Ham is now focusing on Aaron Wan-Bissaka!” Plettenberg said.
“New talks are planned for the next 48 hours.
“Man United have lowered their demands. Price valuation of around £10-15m now. No agreements yet.”
Steidten masterclass in session if Wan-Bissaka joins Hammers
This evening West Ham revealed the cold truth on the Mazraoui deal collapse.
Most West Ham fans had been excited at the prospect of signing Mazraoui having seen his rampaging displays for Bayern.
But prior to those links, Hammers supporters were very eager to see the club sign Wan-Bissaka from Man United.
West Ham will be wary not to get their hopes up too much until Wan-Bissaka signs on the dotted line.
The former Palace man is the same age as Mazraoui but while he is not as good going forward, he is vastly superior defensively.
All eyes now turn to whether West Ham can get this one over the line.
If they do then Steidten really has proved his transfer savvy and cunning yet again.
