It looks a case of here we go again as West Ham insider makes all too familiar claims over the transfers of Gianluca Scamacca and Amadou Onana.
West Ham fans will be feeling a sense of deja vu over reported moves for Sassuolo striker Scamacca and Lille midfielder Onana.

That came after the Neoverdi’s director Giovanni Carnevali confirmed West Ham had outbid PSG for the 6ft 5in tattooed Italy international (Football Italia).
There was a further boost for West Ham when PSG ditched their Scamacca pursuit to sign former Hammers target Hugo Ekitike instead.
Meanwhile there have been widespread reports that West Ham have submitted a third bid for Onana having seen their first two rejected by Lille (Sky Sports).

Here we go again as West Ham insider makes all too familiar claims over transfers of Gianluca Scamacca and Amadou Onana
Hammers fans have been excited at the prospect of David Moyes bringing the young Italy and Belgium internationals into his evolving West Ham side.
But just as the Irons appeared to be edging closer to a couple of seriously exciting deals, so comes the reality check.
It is a case of here we go again as a West Ham insider makes all too familiar claims over the transfers of Scamacca and Onana.
According to a West Ham insider speaking to Claret and Hugh, Moyes has cooled his interest in Scamacca just as the Hammers looked to be making real progress.

“West Ham boss David Moyes has cooled on his latest striker target Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca…” a Hammers source told Claret and Hugh.
“The manager still has to decide whether he will go for the player or maybe bring in (Armando) Broja along, possibly, with the Blackburn Rovers man (Ben Brereton-Diaz).”
And in a separate report from Claret and Hugh, their sources claim the club’s third offer for Onana falls some £30m short of the 6ft 5in ace’s asking price.
“West Ham are continuing to chase Lille midfielder Amadou Onana but despite making an increased bid the club is well away from the required price,” Claret and Hugh state.

“Having launched a £30 million bid a week ago the Hammers were told by the French Ligue One club that they wanted closer to £60 million.
“A Hammers insider – in revealing the news – made it clear that the club weren’t prepared to go that high saying: “He is a player we like very much but there are other targets.”
Why does there always seem to be an issue with West Ham’s transfers?
Flynn Downes was a rare exception to the rule but even that was attributed to the fact West Ham had an advantage with new assistant Mark Warburton’s family ties at the midfielders Wasserman agency.

We had all this in January making bids for players we had no hope of signing or low-balling for those that may have been within reach had West Ham’s owners paid the asking price.
It is wise of the manager to do his due diligence on players and responsible of the West Ham hierarchy not to be fleeced by the selling club.
But Moyes and the board have had long enough now to identify the players they want – especially up front.
The club needs to show some proper ambition and push through with signings like Scamacca and Onana if they want to continue to challenge the top six.
All this alleged indecision and submitting unrealistic offers could lead to disaster and the season starts in three weeks!
