Man United star Marcus Rashford has confirmed what West Ham fans knew all along after shock links with a move to the London Stadium.

A report from 90 Min last season claimed West Ham were one of a clutch of clubs interested in signing Manchester United striker Rashford this summer.

According to the report Rashford was considering his future at Man United after failing to hold down a regular spot in the starting lineup.

And that had alerted West Ham, who have been trying to find and sign a striker for well over a year without success.

Rashford made 18 Premier League appearances last term, but only nine of those have been starts and just two have come in 2022.

“Sources have confirmed to 90min that Rashford has become increasingly frustrated under Rangnick and fears that the German, whose influence at the club will continue in a consultancy role after his temporary spell in the dugout comes to an end this summer, may not see a future for him at the club,” 90 Min reported.

90min has learned that West Ham, Arsenal and Newcastle United are all keeping a close eye on the situation, while Atletico Madrid have also registered interest in the 24-year-old.”

On the face of it, West Ham links to a player reportedly valued at north of £70m seemed ridiculous.

At the time Hammers News spoke to our man in the know at Manchester United about the possibility of Rashford being the man to finally end Moyes’ long search for a new striker at West Ham.

United in Focus writer and Man United expert Dan Coombs exclusively explained to Hammers News that a shock exit could well be on the cards but he felt it was unlikely.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Sport, Rashford was questioned about links with a move away.

But the 24-year-old said he is going nowhere and is looking forward to a fresh start under new manager Erik ten Hag.

“It is an opportunity to refresh. I am ready to go again,” Rashford told BBC Sport.

“We can do a lot together. For me it is a fresh start, something I am looking forward to…

“We play for a big club and we are expected to win.

“We don’t like to lose – but if we work as hard as we can now and try win as many games as we can in pre-season then we will be ready.”

Rashford to West Ham was always one of the most ridiculous rumours of the summer.

And these comments from Rashford put that to bed, likely once and for all.
