Off Hugo to West Ham Gianluca Scamacca as Ekitike seals PSG move to clear the path for £43m Hammers signing.
West Ham’s hopes of signing Italian striker Scamacca have been boosted after reports emerged from France that rivals PSG are set to complete the signing of ex Hammers target Hugo Ekitike.

West Ham have been playing a waiting game as to whether Sassoulo will accept David Moyes’ bid for their 23-year-old forward.
Yesterday the Neoverdi’s director Giovanni Carnevali confirmed West Ham have outbid PSG for the 6ft 5in tattooed Italy international (Football Italia).
West Ham’s big fear has been that PSG would up their bid and prove to be a more attractive proposition for Scamacca given their glittering array of world class stars.

But now it looks to be a case of off Hugo to West Ham Scamacca as Ekitike seals a PSG move to clear the path for the £43m Hammers signing.
As reported by the likes of Le Parisien, Get French Football News and Sky Sports, Ekitike’s move from Reims to PSG is all but complete.
The former West Ham target will now join up with the Ligue 1 champions on their pre-season tour of Japan.

The 20-year-old French striker has been likened to Kylian Mbappe and now he is set to play alongside him in Paris.
Ekitike’s fee is believed to be around £25m. That in itself would not have been a problem for West Ham, but matching his purported salary could have been.
With Mbappe, Neymar, Lionel Messi and now Ekitike, PSG are not expected to follow up their interest in Scamacca.

And that can only be good news for West Ham and Moyes who will surely now be confident of signing Scamacca if they can agree a fee with Sassuolo.
The only worry for West Ham now are rumours of Juventus lurking in the background.
The success of this transfer window will be heavily judged on West Ham’s ability to finally sign a quality striker.
Sassuolo and Italy forward Scamacca is certainly that.

This would be a sensational signing by West Ham and well worth the long 18-month wait.
