Hans Vanaken really pushing for West Ham move as Club Brugge slash his asking price

Hans Vanaken is now really pushing for a move to West Ham and Club Brugge have lowered their demands for the attacking midfielder.

That’s according to a report from Voetbal Belgie who claim that the Belgian side could accept as little as €15 million (£12.7 million) for Vanaken now.

And the 30-year-old is said to be ‘looking for a transfer’ to the Hammers.

David Moyes is thought to be closing in on a deal to sign Lucas Paqueta from Lyon for around £50 million (Daily Mail).

Once that’s done though, the Scot is believed to be keen to add Vanaken to his ranks at the London Stadium as well.

Hans Vanaken wants West Ham move

Voetbal Belgie reckon that the 21-capped Belgium international is desperate to join the Hammers before the transfer window slams shut.

And Club Brugge could accept just €15 million (£12.7 million) for the 30-year-old.

The last bid submitted by West Ham was believed to be worth around £11 million.

So if Moyes really wants Vanaken, it seems like this will be a fairly easy one to get done.

We’ve repeatedly insisted that the Belgian midfielder is far from our first choice. That’s not to say that he isn’t a good player though.

The Belgian bagged 16 goals and seven assists in 45 games in the 2020/21 season and racked up 15 goals and 12 assists in 50 outings last term (Transfermarkt).

Standing at 6ft 5in tall, Vanaken is a real unit and has the kind of physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.

There is one problem as far as we’re concerned though. The Club Brugge midfielder is 30 now. That obviously doesn’t correlate with the Red Bull Model that David Moyes supposedly wants to implement at the London Stadium.

Moving to the Premier League from the Belgian league and succeeding is a tough ask for anybody. Let alone someone who is 30.

If David Moyes really wants to bring Hans Vanaken to West Ham this summer though, we will back his decision 100%.
