Fabrizio Romano has shared a double West Ham transfer update with 60 hours to go until the January window deadline.

The clock is ticking on West Ham’s chance to get players in who can help maintain the push for a top six spot and Europa League glory.

There are less than three days left and the Hammers have the added complication of having the small matter of a Premier League clash with Bournemouth on deadline day.

Going into the January transfer window it was clear West Ham needed to sign at least one new forward and a defender and/or full-back.

But David Moyes raised a few eyebrows by pushing to sign a central midfielder in the shape of Kalvin Phillips.

That should free up the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus to do less defensive work. So you can see the logic.

But there’s no doubt West Ham still need an infusion of quality. And a couple of players still need to be shipped out too.

The top source inside West Ham told Hammers News yesterday that the club’s business has become ‘too complicated for words’.

Well now there’s been a development from a top transfer reporter.

Fabrizio Romano has shared a double West Ham transfer update with around 60 hours to go until deadline.

Romano says West Ham are locked in two lots of talks to facilitate a new arrival and a departure in the shape of Jota and Said Benrahma.

“West Ham are still trying to find a way for Jota deal with Al Ittihad,” Romano said.

“Negotiations remain complicated due to salary and taxes reason but talks took place again on Monday.

West Ham remain in talks with Textor Group for Said Benrahma to join Olympique Lyon in the final days.”

We reported this morning that Benrahma has taken affirmative action to try and force a move away from West Ham.

Lyon have reportedly made an official bid. But watch out for his old club Brentford too.

Former Celtic hero Jota would be a direct replacement.
