So, the touch-paper has clearly been lit on West Ham United’s summer transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui, Tim Steidten and the West Ham board have burst into life with a flurry of new signings over the past few days.

Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug were confirmed as Hammers players on Saturday and Monday respectively, whilst Guido Rodriguez should be announced today, taking the total of new arrivals to six.

However, Lopetegui is far from finished, with the addition of a new centre-back and a right-back desperately needed.

Logan Costa could well be the man for the job in the central defensive department, whilst Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is believed to be Lopetegui’s primary right-back target.

It was actually claimed a few days ago that a deal to bring him to the London Stadium is inching ever closer.

He’s said to be keen to move back to London this summer as well, so that will surely work in the Hammers’ favour.

And now a really big hint has been dropped by someone with contacts in very high places at the London Stadium.

Sullivan confidant hints that West Ham could sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Wan-Bissaka, 26, will surely leave Old Trafford this summer, with Man United pushing to bring in Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.

And if we can get our hands on the former Crystal Palace man, he’d be a stunning addition to Lopetegui’s ranks.

He would be an unbelievable upgrade on Vladimir Coufal – something that we desperately need right now.

Wan-Bissaka possesses blistering pace and is one of the very best tacklers in world football.

In my opinion, there aren’t any better defensive right-backs in the Premier League, and Owen Hargreaves once labelled him as ‘unplayable’ (TEAMtalk).

Now he could be Hammers bound it seems.

West Ham insider Sean Whetstone took to his X account, and dropped a rather unsubtle hint.

Whetstone said, Potential West Ham Squad Senior Squad If no more players leave and if we only sign Aaron Wan-bissaka, then we will have a 24 man squad, of which 8 would be homegrown leaving just one squad space remaining. We do not have to register Guilherme in the senior squad as he is only 18.

Interesting that Whetstone would mentioned Wan-Bissaka right? To me, that’s a clear and obvious hint that the right-back could be Hammers bound.

Manchester United are demanding around £18 million for the defender (Daily Mail), with West Ham’s first offer failing to exceed £10 million.

However, it has been claimed that there is ‘cautious optimism’ that the two clubs can meet somewhere in the middle.

Only time will tell regarding whether that’s true or not, but for now we will all just have to keep our fingers crossed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will join West Ham this summer.

I truly believe that Whetstone has dropped a big hint that that will indeed happen.

However, it has recently come to light that Inter Milan have thrown their hat in the ring to sign the 26-year-old, so the Hammers won’t have things all their own way.
