Hammers boss David Moyes delivers a promising West Ham United transfer update after links to Chelsea star Emerson.
West Ham took their spending to the £117m mark with the £10.1m arrival of Thilo Kehrer this week.
The German defender became West Ham’s sixth signing of a big summer rebuild and comes after the departure of eight players from last season’s first team squad.

Moyes has said his side look “stale” and the Hammers have started the season with back-to-back defeats.
And the Scot has previously insisted West Ham will be active in the transfer market right up until the window closes on September 1st (The Evening Standard).
The Hammers have been linked with a host of players with left-back, central midfield and attacking midfield said to be the manager’s key priorities.

West Ham got their first win of the new season with a 3-1 victory over Danish side Viborg in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.
A win is a win of course. And it saw new £35m striker Gianluca Scamacca get off the mark on his first start.
But the overall performance was once again very laboured, leaving West Ham fans in no doubt the club still has work to do improving the team.
West Ham have reportedly looked at London rivals Chelsea for options in all of those positions.

Now the manager has been speaking in his press conference ahead of Sunday’s home game against Brighton.
And David Moyes delivers a promising West Ham transfer update after links to Chelsea star Emerson.
“We’d like somebody at left-back to help Cressy (Aaron Cresswell) and get cover there but I would like some cover there,” Moyes said in his pre-match presser (Football.London).
“I wouldn’t talk about anyone individually.”

Moyes’ comments come after a host of reports claimed West Ham have re-opened talks with Chelsea for Emerson (Claret and Hugh).
The Hammers have also been linked with other Chelsea fringe players including Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley.
And Moyes looked to Chelsea during last summer’s window too, signing Kurt Zouma from the Blues for £29.5m.
Cresswell has been a great servant for West Ham and still has a big role to play. But at 32, West Ham seriously need to upgrade.

It is encouraging that Moyes has gone on the record to say he is trying to sign a new left-back.
Whether West Ham can get a deal done for Chelsea’s Emerson or another target remains to be seen.
But it sounds promising.
