German football expert says star Thilo Kehrer isn’t a big deal in his homeland but will be after his West Ham United move.
Defender Kehrer is a big deal for West Ham, make no mistake about it.
The Hammers have captured one of the fastest, most athletic defenders in Europe ( Sport Mob), at a brilliant age – 25 – who has been billed as ‘world class’.
Kehrer will remind West Ham fans of a young Rio Ferdinand in many ways.

The versatile pass master can play in central defence, at full-back and in defensive midfield. He’s both footed too.
And that’s a big deal for David Moyes, as West Ham fans will know.
Kehrer was a big deal for PSG as well. They shelled out a whopping £35m to sign him as a 21-year-old from Schalke back in 2018.
The new Hammer is also a big deal for German national team boss Hansi Flick who has used Kehrer more than any other player since taking over from Joachim Low.

However, a well known German football expert says star Kehrer isn’t a big deal in his homeland but will be after his West Ham move.
Raphael Honigstein, who speaks on German football for the likes of BBC Sport, Sky Sports, BT Sport and talkSPORT, made the claim in a brilliantly in-depth analysis of Kehrer on West Ham’s official website.
“He left Germany so early that he has almost gone a little bit under the radar,” Honigstein told whufc.com.

“He doesn’t have a huge footprint in Germany. People have seen him in the Champions League but I don’t think they quite realise how consistent, solid and versatile he is.
“Until Hansi Flick made him a mainstay of his new Germany, when he came in, since then Thilo has been in almost every single starting XI and there’s almost been a realisation of just how good a player he really is.
“I think the Premier League will help him in that respect, because a lot more people will see him and you’ll see him tested a lot more.

“It’s a brilliant environment for him, not just to grow as a player, but to improve his chance as far as the 2022 World Cup is concerned.”
So there you have it West Ham fans, we will be the making of our new Hammer back in his homeland.
West Ham fans can’t wait to see Kehrer in action. And he has already shown a great attitude by declaring he was ready to face Viborg in the Europa Conference League just over 24 hours after arriving from PSG.
