West Ham United manager David Moyes has to be bold and sell one of his key players in the January transfer window.
David Moyes made some great signings for West Ham in the summer, and we have actually improved as a team since Declan Rice left to join Arsenal.

However, the Scot’s work is far from done, and the January transfer window will be a very important one for the Hammers boss.
The addition of a top-class centre-forward and an elite right wing-back could take us to another level entirely. The problem for Moyes is that he won’t have an endless stream of money to spend, so he might just have to sell someone to balance the books.

I feel like the prime candidate for the chop this winter could be Said Benrahma.
Benrahma has established himself as a key man at the London Stadium over the past couple of years.
He racked up 17 goal involvements in the 2021/22 season and then bagged 17 combined goals and assists once again last season (Transfermarkt).
Whatever anyone says about Benrahma, nobody can argue that those numbers are pretty impressive. He has 35 goals and assists since the start of the 2021/22 season. However, the Algerian seems like a changed man this term, and not in a good way…
David Moyes should sell West Ham attacker in the January transfer window
Benrahma has been well off the pace this season, with just one assist and no goals to his name in 10 appearances so far.
The Algerian actually looks like he’s carrying too much weight and has undoubtedly lost a yard of pace since last term.
One big problem that Benrahma has this season is that there just doesn’t seem to be a straightforward route for him into Moyes’s first XI.

Lucas Paqueta now has the left wing role locked down due to his incredible form and blossoming on-pitch relationship with Emerson Palmieri.
If Moyes decides to move the Brazilian back into a central role, then Mohammed Kudus will probably start on the left. Benrahma just seems to be the odd one out right now.
And with his contract not set to expire until the summer of 2026, the January transfer window may well represent West Ham with a great chance to sell him for a decent fee – let’s say something in excess of £20 million.
I think Moyes should sacrifice the former Brentford winger in January. All he has done this season is pass the ball backwards or sideways and doesn’t seem to have the ability to beat his man anymore. It’s time to cash in.
