Hammers boss David Moyes would have been hugely proud of the way in which his players went about their business today.
One player who stood out for West Ham was Emerson Palmieri. The 29-year-old has been absolutely sensational this season.

29-year-old was absolutely sensational for West Ham vs Newcastle
The Hammers paid Chelsea around £13 million to bring Emerson to the London Stadium in the summer of 2022 (The Athletic).
That now looks like one of the best deals Moyes has ever completed for West Ham.
Emerson was superb against Newcastle today. He assisted Tomas Soucek for our opener against the Toon and was a constant threat down the left hand flank.
The Italy international has forged an incredible partnership with Lucas Paqueta, and that relationship has provided West Ham with a totally different facet to our attacking play.
Perhaps the most surprising thing about Emerson’s fine recent form has been the fact that he has actually defended with aplomb.
The 29-year-old has never been known for being a good defender but he certainly hasn’t let anyone down this season.
He now looks like the complete package. And Emerson’s performance for West Ham against Newcastle today was one of the very best that I’ve seen from a Hammers left-back in quite some time.
