Jarrod Bowen has suggested that West Ham United manager David Moyes might have a new role for him.
West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has been in tremendous form this season, with five goals and two assists to his name in just eight games in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
The 26-year-old has reached a new level entirely this season, and Hammers boss David Moyes will be absolutely delighted with the way that he’s started the 2023/24 campaign.

Since moving to the London Stadium, Bowen has almost exclusively played as a right winger for West Ham.
However, it seems like a new role could be on the horizon for the former Hull City star…
West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen could be set for a new position
The Hammers attacker was deployed as a false 9 against Freiburg in the Europa League last night. His starting position was in the centre-forward role, but he often drifted out wide and tried to run in behind the Freiburg back-line.
This worked perfectly for our opening goal, and Bowen told West Ham’s official website how that is something he has been working on in training:

“The first goal was nice. It was something we’ve worked on, with myself playing as the No9. I saw the space in behind and I got in behind, and it was about finding someone with the cross. And what a leap from Lucas Paquetá! It was a great header to put us in the lead and it was nice to see something we’ve worked on pay off.”
I think that we looked so much better with Bowen through the middle, flanked by Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta.
Michail Antonio obviously still has an important role to play for the Hammers this season, but last night gave us a glimpse of what the future could look like without the 33-year-old.
Jarrod Bowen is a class act and he looked incredibly dangerous when deployed as a false 9 in the Europa League.
I think that new role for the 26-year-old is something that Moyes should really consider sticking with for the foreseeable future.
