West Ham United manager David Moyes is allegedly working closely with Jarrod Bowen on one particular aspect of his game.

Jarrod Bowen has been on fire for West Ham this season, with five goals and two assists to his name already, and David Moyes will be absolutely delighted with the forward’s form.

Everything is going well for the 26-year-old right now. He’s just signed a new seven-year deal at the London Stadium and the Hammers star has received a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad.

Moyes suggested recently that his long-term plan is to convert Bowen into a centre-forward from a right winger.

The former Hull City ace definitely has the attributes needed to play in the central striking role…or does he?

Moyes seems to think that he’s lacking one specific thing…

According to a report from The Athletic, the Scot is really keen to help Bowen improve his heading ability, and he is personally working with him in that regard.

This is allegedly all part of a grander plan to covert the hard-working winger into a centre-forward.

Bowen has scored two headed goals already this season – against Luton Town and Liverpool respectively.

He failed to score a single header last season, so there are already signs of improvements in that regard from the 26-year-old.

The England international has won an average of 1.8 aerial duels per game in the Premier League this season (Who Scored). And in fairness to Bowen, he’s got a great leap – something that he needs considering the fact that he’s only 5ft 9in tall.

The ex-Hull forward seems to be like a much more well-rounded player now, and that’s clearly down to the hard work he put in over the summer.

Jarrod Bowen certainly has the ability to go on and be a 20 goal a season man for West Ham under the guidance of David Moyes.

And it’s clear to see that the Scot thinks that the 26-year-old is well on his way to becoming an elite striker. However, Moyes is obviously of the opinion that he just needs to improve one specific part of his game, in order to do just that.
