A board source has lifted the lid on the lengths West Ham are going to in order to prime Jesse Lingard to sign on a free transfer.
Any doubt that West Ham fully intend on trying to get Jesse Lingard signed as a free agent should be extinguished by a revelation from a club insider.
There has been much speculation about whether West Ham will or won’t hand Lingard a short-term deal.
Speculation has been rife that Wolves and Turkish clubs are rivalling the Hammers for the 30-year-old midfielder.
Given Lingard has now been training with West Ham for over three weeks, joining another club at this stage would be a real kick in the teeth.

Board source lifts lid on lengths West Ham are going to in order to sign Jesse Lingard on a free transfer
Earlier this week David Moyes spoke in glowing terms when confirming Lingard continues to train with West Ham. Notably the Scot was full of praise for the midfielder and his fitness levels.
With that as background, some West Ham fans are puzzled as to why Lingard has not signed a deal by now, even though he can still join despite the passing of the Premier League squad deadline on Wednesday.
Hammers supporters have noticed a big difference about Lingard after new footage emerged of him in training yesterday.
Turkish giants Besiktas are the latest to be linked with Lingard overnight, as reported by A Spor.
That has sparked fresh concern among those who want to see the free agent return to the London Stadium on a permanent basis.
But fans should not be concerned according to Hammers board confidant Sean Whetstone.
Because the board source has lifted the lid on the lengths West Ham are going to in order to prime Lingard to sign on a free transfer.

‘You don’t do all that for a favour’
Whetstone has revealed West Ham are paying for Lingard’s accommodation and travel expenses – as he is currently banned from driving as reported by BBC back in July.
And he says that all points to West Ham fully intending on signing the former loan star.
“Jesse Lingard training today at Rush Green while laughing and joking with the squad,” Whetstone said.
“Hard to see West Ham not giving him a chance. They are putting him up in a hotel at their own cost while arranging his travel to and from training as he lost his driving license for six months after he was sentenced for speeding in July after giving a false name.
“You don’t do all of that for a favour, there must be a plan to sign him.”
