The 28-year-old has allegedly made it clear to West Ham that he wants to return to the London Stadium in January.
And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The 32-capped England international was a huge hit at the London Stadium during a four month loan spell with West Ham last season.
The fans, his teammates and David Moyes absolutely loved Jesse.
And it seems as though he could be set to return to East London in January.
The Sun reckon that Lingard is already making arrangements to return to West Ham in six weeks time or so.

And ExWHUemployee backed up those claims by suggesting that the 28-year-old has made it clear to the Hammers that he wants to rejoin them in January.
What a signing he will be for us if Moyes manages to get it over the line.
West Ham fans react to big ExWHUemployee update
Lingard will slot straight in at West Ham both on and off the pitch. And for the reported fee of just £10 million (The Sun), bringing him back to the London Stadium seems like an absolute no-brainer for the Hammers.
